Banking in its modern sense evolved in the 14th century in the rich cities of Renaissance Italy but in many ways was a continuation of ideas and concepts of credit and lending that had their roots in the ancient world. In the history of banking, a number of banking dynasties — notably, the Medicis, the Fuggers, the Welsers, the Berenbergs and the Rothschilds — have played a central role over many centuries. The oldest existing retail bank is Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena, while the oldest existing merchant bank is Berenberg Bank.

Kim Jong Un’s half-brother dies in Malaysia

The estranged half-brother of the North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has died in Malaysia, police have confirmed, after he told authorities he had been attacked in the shopping concourse at Kuala Lumpur airport. Kim Jong-nam, who was 45 years old, died on his way to hospital after seeking help at an information desk because he felt dizzy, Malalysian police said. He said he had been attacked by an unknown assailant, and police have ordered a postmortem. Both South Korean and US government sources believe Kim was murdered by North Korean agents, Reuters news agency reported. Poison-pen devices have been found on would-be North Korean assassins in the past, and a US government official said a similar device could not be ruled out. Kim had been planning to travel to Macau, where he is believed to have a home and family, when he fell ill at the low-cost terminal of Kuala Lumpur international airport (KLIA), police official Fadzil Ahmat told Reuters. “The deceased … felt like someone grabbed or held his face from behind,” Fadzil said. “We don’t know if there was a cloth or needles. The receptionist said someone grabbed his face, he felt dizzy.” Kim was taken to an airport clinic, where medical staff ordered an ambulance, but he died on his way to hospital. A postmortem will be carried out and police have launched an investigation, although they do not yet have any suspects, Ahmat said.

Everything is Gold sultan

The controller gave another command: “After the VVIP disembarks please clear the main bay and move to the parking area.” The welcoming party waiting to receive the royal could hardly believe what it saw: Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah of Brunei Darussulam himself emerging from the Captain’s seat. Bolkiah, to their disbelief, had flown the aircraft on its journey to New Delhi, considered rare for a head of state who is one of the world’s richest persons. Old timers recalled that the Sultan had captained the aircraft on his previous visit to Delhi in 2008 as well. A tricky situation arose as the air traffic controller’s radio crackled again with the request to take the aircraft to the parking bay. “Aye,” came the response. “Now my pilot will take over promptly,” said the Sultan as a backup pilot took control of the aircraft’s yoke and taxied it to the parking bay. The Sultan then posed for his protocol welcome on the tarmac with the cameras clicking away.

Gagan Thapa’s Rescue

A society is a group of people involved in persistent social interaction, or a large social grouping sharing the same geographical or social territory, typically subject to the same political authority and dominant cultural expectations. Societies are characterized by patterns of relationships (social relations) between individuals who share a distinctive culture and institutions; a given society may be described as the sum total of such relationships among its constituent members. In the social sciences, a larger society often evinces stratification or dominance patterns in subgroups.
Insofar as it is collaborative, a society can enable its members to benefit in ways that would not otherwise be possible on an individual basis; both individual and social (common) benefits can thus be distinguished, or in many cases found to overlap. A society can also consist of like-minded people governed by their own norms and values within a dominant, larger society. This is sometimes referred to as a subculture, a term used extensively within criminology.

Hrithik Roshan for Nepal

Kaabil has crossed the 90-crore mark and Hrithik Roshan is very happy. In fact, post release too, he and Yami Gautam have been visiting various cities, including the City of Joy, to promote their film. But the actor feels that it would have done better business had it not clashed with Raees. He adds that it would be even better if filmmakers planned their releases to make sure clashes didn’t happen. “It is easy to plan out the releases like Hollywood does. We have six to seven big films that come every year and 365 days in a year. It is very simple for two big films not to clash. We have the same calendar as Hollywood. If they can do it, so can we. The Lord Of The Rings will not clash with Harry Potter. It never happens.”
Although the box office collection of the SRK-starrer Raees has gone ahead, Hrithik thinks each film should be compared in isolation. “Profit or loss is decided according to the budget of the film. You know how my father (Rakesh Roshan) works. He has made the film in Rs.40 crore. So after it crossed Rs.80 crore, it was already in profit. That is how you compare a film in isolation.”

Panche Baja Dance

Panche Baja (literally – five musical instruments) is a group of five traditional musical instruments played in Nepal during certain auspicious occasions like marriages. A small band of five people (traditionally, called Damahi) can form the musical band to perform in such occasions. The five instruments are:Panche Baja – the five musical instruments – Dholki (Top left), Tyamko (Top right), Damaha (Bottom left), Sahanai (Bottom center), Jhyali (Bottom right)A larger band, with nine instruments, is termed Naumati Baja (music with nine instruments). They always have nine different pieces instruments but, there are only six types of instruments. Naumati Baja consists all the instruments used in Panche Baja with an addition of two pipe instruments; either Narsingha or Karnal. Narsingha is a long, curved horn like pipe instrument, popular in Central Nepal. Karnal, the Narsingha of Western Nepal is not curved like Narsingha. Karnal is a straight and big-mouthed natural trumpet. In Naumati Baja, there are two Damaha and two Sahanai to make a total of nine instruments.Panche baja is a more popular name when traditional music is concerned and hence the general public often confuses a Naumati Baja with Panche Baja. So, both Panche and Naumati are often called a same name ‘Panche Baja
