The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police has arrested human-trafficking convict and the singer of ‘Baule Bihe Gardenan Pohorpani…’ Prakah Ojha, from Shankhamul, Kathmandu on Friday.
Acting on a tip-off that Ojha was hiding in Shankhamul area and was involved in recording music videos, a special squad of Nepal Police nabbed him from the area today.
Ojha, who originally hails from Itahari Municipality-4, Sunsari, has been sent to the central jail after arrest.
Reversing the Appellate Court, Morang’s decision, on January 17, the Supreme Court had sentenced Ohja to 10 years in jail on the charge of human trafficking. Ojha had gone into hiding since.

As the movie progresses, the four friends are predictably pulled out from their cocoons and dragged into reality. Each of them either finds love, goes abroad for work or both. Hetauda banda in protest of demolition campaign
Hetauda Bazaar locals have enforced a town shutdown for the last two days to protest the demolition of homes and business establishments close to the East-West Highway. While the Department of Roads has said that only those buildings encroaching upon the highway were demolished, the protesters have claimed that even those houses that were approved by the municipality office were razed down in the name of evicting illegal occupants.
The business community and local political parties have also supported the protest. Raj Kumar Neupane, chairman of Makwanpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry, accused the DoR of committing an indiscriminate raid on private properties.
The DoR started its demolition drive on Monday from the Rapti river bridge. The Division Road Office had served an eviction notice to the occupants of the buildings constructed within 25 metres of either side of the highway.

Police have arrested 16 persons including incumbent and former employees of Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) for their alleged involvement in power thefts.A team of Metropolitan Police Crime Division (MPCD) arrested two NEA technicians, 10 meter readers and four factory owners from different parts of the Capital City on Sunday on the charge of tampering electricity meters and thus causing loss to NEA.
The arrested are Suman Shrestha, 50, of KMC-28, a supervisor at NEA, Balaju and Tahal Bahadur Karki, 56, of Ramechhap, a former maintenance officer.Likewise, meter readers Mahadev Pradhan,51, of Sarlahi, employed at NEA, Hetauda Distribution Center, Achyut Khadka, 39, of Sindhupalchowk, deployed at NEA, Baneshwor, Bhagwan Pandey,54, of Bhaktapur, former employee at NEA, Bhaktapur and Surya Bahadur Thapa,39, of Lalitpur, NEA, Lagankhel were arrested by the police.
Similarly, Dil Bahadur Saud, 51, of KMC-35, Om Dhungana, 48, of Nuwakot, Shyam Basnet, 50, of Ramechhap, Pradip Sharma, 46, of Nagarjun-1, Thakur Maharjan, 44, of KMC-34 and Manij Shrestha, 49, of KMC-10 were also nabbed for their alleged involvement in the crime.
Similarly, Dil Bahadur Saud, 51, of KMC-35, Om Dhungana, 48, of Nuwakot, Shyam Basnet, 50, of Ramechhap, Pradip Sharma, 46, of Nagarjun-1, Thakur Maharjan, 44, of KMC-34 and Manij Shrestha, 49, of KMC-10 were also nabbed for their alleged involvement in the crime.
Space balls: Mysterious objects fall from the sky of Vietnam
Several mysterious, metal orbs originating from Russia crash landed in Vietnam’s Yen Bai and Tuyen Quang provinces Saturday, giving locals quite the scare.Three metal balls fell from the sky and crashed down in northern Vietnam at around 6:30 a.m. on Saturday. The smallest, weighing 250 grams, smashed through the roof of a house in Yen Bai. Thanh Nien News reports that a six kilogram sphere fell in a garden three kilometres away. The largest object landed close to a stream in Tuyen Quang.Investigators determined all three balls are Russian-made compressed air tanks that likely fell from a rocket or aircraft. According to VietnamNet Bridge though, it’s not clear if Russia owns the objects or if they had sold the balls to other countries.Thanh Nien News reports that none of the objects were explosive.Ngyuen Khoa Son, a professor at Vietnam’s State Space Science and Technology Program, told VietNam Bridge that since the balls are intact, they probably fell from an altitude of less than 100 kilometres.
